Welcome Message
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the EU-funded Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (CoE) DIPLOWideMed at the University of Catania.
In the current complex and evolving international context, public diplomacy represents a strategic instrument for promoting dialogue, mutual understanding, and the conditions necessary for sustainable peace. In this perspective, DIPLOWideMed has been designed and implemented to contribute to strengthening cooperation and stability in the Mediterranean region through the active engagement of academic experts, policy practitioners, and relevant stakeholders.
The Centre’s mission is to enhance the role of Mediterranean academic and research institutions by fostering knowledge exchange, capacity building, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In doing so, DIPLOWideMed aims to reinforce cultural and scientific ties among the peoples of the Mediterranean, in line with the European Union’s commitment to promoting regional cooperation, inclusiveness, and shared development.
